Thai – Standard WCF :
BODY : Medium sized and muscular body, but still slender and elegant; neither cobby nor elongated. Legs medium in length, rounded paws.
Tail of medium length and slightly tapering to a pointed tip.
HEAD : Moderate wedge shape with gently rounded contours. Slightly curved profile, with the dip at eye level. Strong chin and lower jaw, rounded muzzle.
EARS : Medium in size, broad at the base with slightly rounded tips and set wide apart.
EYES : Large and slightly slanted; the upper lid almond shaped, the lower lid slightly rounded; eye colour vivid blue.
COAT : Short and glossy, close-lying; silky texture, no undercoat.
The Thai is a colourpointed cat, any point colour without white is accepted.
Colour Varieties:
SEAL POINT: Body pale fawn to creamy beige, warm in tone. Shading in same tone as points. Points deep seal brown, almost black. Nose leather and paw pads same color as points.
CHOCOLATE POINT: Body ivory with no shading. Points milk chocolate color, warm in tone. Nose leather and paw pads should be cinnamon pink.
BLUE POINT: Body color bluish white, cold in tone. Shading in same tone as points. Points deep bluish gray. Nose leather and paw pads slate colored to black.
LILAC POINT: Body glacial white with no shading. Points frosty gray with pinkish tone. Nose leather and paw pads lavender pink.
CINNAMON POINT: Body ivory. Shading in same tone as points. Points warm cinnamon brown. Nose leather and paw pads pink to cinnamon brown.
RED POINT: Body white, shading to apricot on the back and sides. Points bright reddish gold. Lack of barring and striping on mask, legs, and tail is preferred but not required. Nose leather and paw pads pink. Slight freckling on nose, paw pads, lips, eyelids, and ears is acceptable.
CREAM POINT: Body white, shading to cream on the back and sides. Points warm cream color. Lack of barring and striping on the mask, legs, and tail is preferred but not required. Nose leather and paw pads pink. Slight freckling on nose, paw pads, lips, eyelids, and ears is acceptable.
LYNX POINT: Body pale, showing clear contrast with points as in equivalent solid-pointed color. Shading will show underlying tabby pattern which may be ticked, spotted, mackerel, or classic.
Points should all clearly show tabby markings. Paler markings in kittens okay. Mask will have clearly defined stripes around the eyes and nose, a clearly defined “M” marking on the forehead, stripes on the cheeks, and darkly spotted whisker pads.
The stripes should not extend over the top of the head.
Edges of ears should be the same color as the markings on the mask with a central patch of color resembling a thumb print. Thumbprints may be less distinct in dilute colorsand not visible in tortie lynx points. Legs should have clearly definedbroken stripes of varied size. Color on legs may be paler than other points.Color on back of hind legs should be solid. Tails should have many clearly defined rings of varied size ending in a solid tip. Tip may have tortie markings in tortie lynx points. Rings should extend the full length of thetail and be present on both top and bottom of tail.
Each Linx colour variety has a different name because the colurpoint pattern, so there are :
SEAL LYNX POINT , CHOCOLATE LYNX POINT , BLUE LYNX POINT , LILAC LYNX POINT , RED LYNX POINT , CREAM LYNX POINT , CINNAMON LYNX POINT .
TORTIE POINT: Body pale, showing clear contrast with the points as in equivalent solid-pointed color. Shading will show patching or mingling of color. Points should clearly show patched and/or mingled colors at random with varying shades of red or cream. Any large areas of red or cream mayshow some striping. Each point must show at least a small break in color, which may include broken paw pad color on that leg. Blaze optional. Noseleather and paw pads either according to base color, pink, or both.
Each Tortie colour variety has a different name because the colurpoint pattern, so there are :
SEAL TORTIE POINT , CHOCOLATE TORTIE POINT , BLUE TORTIE POINT , LILAC TORTIE POINT , CINNAMON TORTIE POINT . TORTIE LYNX POINT:Follow the standard for specific lynx point colors, except ears, nose leather, and paw pads are mottled. Ears may or may not have visible thumb prints in the center. Tail may be like lynx point, but may also have tortie markings, including on tip of tail. Points patched with red and/or cream over the tabby pattern. Distribution of patching on the points is immaterial. These cats tend to resemble lynx points more thantortie points.
FAULTS :
The goal of the Thai breeding is the traditional type of the Siamese. Any changes of type that might imply a hybridization by extraneous breeds (e.g. woolly coat, pronounced cheeks, definite stop, round eyes) are undesirable and to be considered as a severe fault.
